1. Who you are agreeing with
These terms are between you and Saijil Singh, trading as SKS Exotics ("we", "us"), a sole proprietor operating https://sks-exotics.com.
Address: 1183 Muirfield Drive, Eagle Canyon Golf Estate, Honeydew, Johannesburg, 2040, South Africa
By creating an account you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not create an account.
2. You must be 18 or older
This service is for adults. By creating an account you confirm you are at least 18. If we learn an account belongs to someone younger, we will close it.
3. Your account
- Give an email address you actually control — it is how you recover access.
- Choose a password of at least 8 characters and keep it to yourself.
- You are responsible for activity under your account.
- Tell us at info@sks-exotics.com if you think someone else has access.
One person, one account. Do not share logins. If you want somebody else to help with your collection — a partner, a keeper who feeds while you are away — invite them from Account → People. They get their own account, their own sign-in and a role you choose, and you can remove them at any time. How many you may invite depends on your plan; see the table in section 10.
4. What the service does
SKS Exotics is a record-keeping tool for reptile keepers: your animals, feeding and cleaning records, health and behaviour events, breeding pairings and clutches, costs and sales, and a genetics calculator.
It is not veterinary advice
This is the most important sentence in this document. The app records what you tell it and does arithmetic on it. It does not know your animals, cannot examine them, and cannot tell you whether one is unwell.
- Feeding reminders are calculations from dates you entered, not a nutritional recommendation.
- Genetics predictions are statistical probabilities, not guarantees about any particular clutch.
- Quarantine timers count days you entered. They are not a health assessment.
- Nothing here substitutes for a qualified reptile veterinarian.
If an animal appears unwell, consult a vet. Do not rely on this app.
5. Your data belongs to you
You keep ownership of everything you put in. We claim no rights over your records or photographs beyond what is needed to store and display them back to you.
You grant us only the limited permission needed to operate the service: to store your content, and to display it to you within your own account.
6. What you may not do
- Upload anything unlawful, or anything you do not have the right to upload
- Upload photographs of other people without their consent
- Attempt to access another user's account or data
- Probe, scan or test the security of the service without our written permission
- Attempt to circumvent the limits of your subscription tier
- Automate access in a way that degrades the service for others
- Resell or redistribute the service
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules. Where circumstances reasonably allow, we will tell you why.
If we suspend your account, your records are retained and are restored if the account is reactivated. Suspension is not deletion. You may still ask us to export or delete your data while suspended.
7. Availability
We aim to keep the service running but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. It may be unavailable for maintenance, provider outages, or reasons outside our control.
Keep your own backups. Account → Export Data downloads everything. We recommend doing this periodically. Your records may represent years of work; do not let this app be the only copy.
8. Changes and discontinuation
We may change or add features. If we make a change that materially reduces what you get, we will give you reasonable notice.
If we ever discontinue the service, we will give at least 60 days' notice so you can export your records.
9. Closing your account
You may delete your account at any time in Account → Delete account. This permanently removes your records, photographs and login. Export first if you want a copy — we cannot restore a deleted account.
Deleting your account does not automatically end a subscription bought through Creem. Cancel the subscription as well — see the Refund and Cancellation Policy.
10. Plans and payment
The plans
| Plan | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0, no card required | Up to 5 animals and 3 pairings, plus 1 additional user on your collection |
| Monthly | $15 per month | Unlimited animals and pairings, plus up to 3 additional users on your collection |
| Yearly | $150 per year | Unlimited animals and pairings, plus up to 3 additional users on your collection |
Prices are in United States dollars (USD) and exclude any sales tax or VAT, which is calculated and added at checkout by our payment platform according to where you are.
If your card is denominated in another currency, your bank converts the amount and may add its own conversion fee. That fee is your bank's, not ours.
Who you are buying from
Payments are processed by Creem, who act as the merchant of record for your purchase. This means Creem is the seller and contractual reseller of the subscription, is responsible for calculating and remitting any applicable sales tax or VAT, and handles all refunds and chargebacks. Your payment is to Creem, not to us.
Creem's own terms apply to the purchase transaction: https://www.creem.io/terms
How billing works
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
- You may cancel at any time. Cancelling stops future charges; it does not refund the period you are in unless our Refund and Cancellation Policy says otherwise.
- If a payment fails we may retry it. If it keeps failing, your account moves to the free plan.
What happens if you stop paying
Your records are never deleted for non-payment. If a subscription lapses, everything you have logged stays readable and exportable. What changes is that you cannot add animals or pairings beyond the free plan's limits until you subscribe again.
Changing plans
Upgrading takes effect immediately. Downgrading takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for.
Refunds
See our separate Refund and Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these terms.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by South African law:
- The service is provided "as is".
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profits or lost data.
- Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, it is limited to the total amount you have paid for the service in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under the Consumer Protection Act.
12. Your privacy
Our Privacy Notice explains what we collect and why, and forms part of these terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction. This does not remove any protection you have under the consumer law of the country you live in.
